1. PADMANABHASWAMY TEMPLE, KERALA

The Padmanabhaswamy temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s capital, is regarded as the world’s richest temple and was opened on a court order, revealing a collection of gold, diamonds, jewels, silver jewellery, crowns, and valuable stones. Another vault in the temple is thought to be richer and wealthier than the one discovered. 

2. LOST TREASURE OF THE ALAMO

Alamo witnessed one of the most epic battles in American history. What is more epic is the story of the massive San Saba Treasure, which is buried somewhere in the lands of the Alamo. This treasure is said to contain millions of dollars in gold, silver, and religious treasures, which were intended to be used to construct an army and pay for the coming battle. Unfortunately, no evidence of the vast riches has ever been discovered. 

3. THE AMBER ROOM

The room contained gold-gilded mosaics, mirrors, and sculptures, as well as panels made of almost 1,000 pounds of amber. In 1941, the room’s panels and artwork were removed and sent to Germany. They haven’t been seen since, and it’s possible they’ve been destroyed. The Catherine Palace now contains a recreation of the Amber Room.

4. CHARMINAR TUNNEL, HYDERABAD

This tunnel connects Charminar and Golconda Fort and was built by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah. During emergencies, the royal family used this hidden corridor as an emergency exit. In this tunnel, the king buried his treasure. It is rumored that the treasure chest is still hidden and waiting to be discovered.

5. THE LOST LIBRARY OF THE MOSCOW TSARS

There are reports that Ivan IV, also known as Ivan the Terrible, who ruled from 1530 to 1584, hid the library’s books. In the past years, many attempts have been made to find this “secret library,” but the searchers have come up empty-handed. Whether or not this secret library existed, a number of ancient writings written in Greek and other languages may be found in archives in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

6. FLORENTINE DIAMOND

The yellow 137-carat Florentine Diamond came most likely from India and arrived in Europe by the end of the 15th century. It is unknown how and when it arrived in Europe. The Florentine Diamond may have been recut and is now a collection of lesser diamonds.

7. SON BHANDAR CAVES, BIHAR

The twin caves in Bihar’s Rajgir district are claimed to hold a massive treasure kept safely by King Bimbisara of the Magadha dynasty. According to legend, if you can read the letters carved in the cave, the cave’s door will mysteriously open. Isn’t it straight out of the days of Aladdin? A gunshot mark bears witness to the Britishers’ futile effort to bust open the door.

8. ARK OF THE COVENANT

This was a chest that carried tablets with the Ten Commandments carved on them. The chest was stored in a temple in Jerusalem that was supposed to have been constructed by King Solomon. In 587 B.C., it was destroyed. It’s unknown what happened to the Ark of the Covenant, and its origins have long been a topic of speculation.

9. DEAD SEA COPPER SCROLL TREASURES

The text carved on a sheet of copper that reveals the location of a great amount of hidden treasure is perhaps the most unique Dead Sea Scroll discovered in the Qumran caves in the West Bank. This Copper Scroll, as it is known, is exhibited at a Jordanian museum. Some researchers suggest that the treasures mentioned in the Copper Scroll may have been real treasures hidden before the Roman army destroyed the temple.

10. THE LOST CITY OF GOLD

Hundreds of explorers have searched for the lost city of Paititi, said to be one of the Incas’ last refuges. The Spanish entered the forests in search of gold and silver, but only found a little amount of it. The rest of the treasure said to be worth billions of dollars, was never discovered and remains hidden.
